ABOUT ME

My name is Joe, and I am a native of Long Island, New York, and a recent graduate of Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. I have been intrigued by architecture and design since 4th grade, when I accompanied my parents on the journey of designing and building a new house. I had the opportunity to take an introductory architecture class in 5th grade, and was accepted to the 3-year Architectural Technology Program at my high school, ultimately leading me to the 5 year Bachelors of Architecture program at Marywood.

Throughout college, I was able to combine my love of architecture with my love of music in many of my projects, both conceptually and in designing spaces for performance and recording of music. I'm fascinated by Renaissance ideas of music in architecture and how similar principles and proportion can be applied to design currently.

I was able to engage in great deals of hands-on design build experience; from constructing small desk top pieces, habitable installations, and even a functional canoe. One of these projects, "Drift," was displayed at the SOFA Exhibition in Chicago.

In my 5th year, I was able to bring my experience full circle, by participating in an independent study where I taught introductory architecture ideas to approximately 60 local 3rd graders. I found it extremely fulfilling being on the opposite side of the material, and working with a similar age group to when my interest in architecture was formed.

In addition to architecture and music, I love anything visual where I can apply my knowledge of design, composition and aesthetics. I enjoy conveying ideas and stories through photography, video production, and graphics.
